CCNA: Exam Preparation Certification

Description:

CCNA (Cisco Certified Network Associate) is the first level of professional certification of Cisco Systems, acknowledging the level of competence of a person in the field of computer networks.

The CCNA certification validates the ability to install, configure, administer, and troubleshoot medium-size routed and switched networks. CCNA certified professionals have the knowledge and skills to make connections to remote sites via a WAN, mitigate security threats base and understand the requirements of access to the wireless network.

CCNA possesses (but not limited to) the use of these protocols: IP, Enhanced Interior Gateway Routing Protocol (EIGRP), Serial Line Interface Protocol Frame Relay, Routing Information Protocol Version 2 (RIPv2 ), VLANs, Ethernet, and access control lists (ACLs).

Prerequisite:

Have basic knowledge of computers.

Target audience:

Technicians help desk (level 1 and 2), network administrators, managers and assistants. This course is designed for individuals with some computer knowledge with interests in networking.

Learning Objectives:

1. Knowledge of OSI model
2. Understanding of switching and routing (static and dynamic); knowledge of routing protocols (RIP, IGRP, EIGRP, OSPF), Ethernet technology
3. Understanding protocols ARP, IP, ICMP, TCP and UDP
4. Numeracy with IP subnets of various sizes and control lists (ACL).

Methodology:

Most training activities use a presentation as the main teaching technique. This course breaks new grounds by offering diversified technics and have been carefully selected for their potential to sustain and maintain interest, to cause learning and increase retention. It uses several techniques, including: animation, simulation, guided discovery, metaphor, case studies, interactive presentation, problem solving and demonstration. The whole will be enriched with practical and interesting examples.

Note:

Students are required to bring their own laptop in order to install the simulator, documents and laboratories for this Boot Camp.

The course can sometimes persist for an hour or two if necessary.
